Here is a website I found that is really fun for children (especially boys) to help reinforce their times tables. You can download the program for free. The only thing I wanted to mention is that it has kind of a dark castle theme with a ogre type man that comes out with times facts on the front of his shirt that you need to solve. If your children would be afraid of this you might want to check it out first.

I found this website called Math is Fun. Most of the time when you find an interactive website it is mostly for younger children learning their basic facts. This website tackles Algebra and Geometry too!

I had the privilege of reviewing a Financial Accounting Course called Professor in a Box, designed especially for homeschool students. Since one of my daughters is a senior and would like to go into business for herself as an esthetician (spa owner), I thought that this would be a good course for her to take. In the past year I came across a program called Aleks (which stands for Assessment and LEarning in Knowledge Spaces). Basically it is an online math system where you can enroll your children in a course and let them do all their math work online. The course keeps track of their progress and sends reports to the parent.

In these economic times cheap homeschool resources are always a good idea. Homeschool Moms are know to be some of the most resourceful people on the planet. They can figure out how to make food money stretch beyond what it did several years ago. They can figure out how to make a normal book come alive without spending a fortune on high priced curriculum.

You can choose the java or non-java version when viewing this site. Here’s a quote from the site: “We suggest you begin your journey with Penny, following through to Dollar Bill, then Interest Ray, Checks, and lastly Mr. EFT. You can print your own flashcards and worksheets. This is the coolest math and free worksheet site I have seen. There are also interactive flash cards here too that your child can do with cute characters.
Have you ever been stuck on a math problem and just couldn’t figure it out? Well, WebMath can help you the next time that happens. You just choose the area you are having trouble with and then enter the problem. This is especially helpful for upper level math. Here’s the link… WebMath.
A friend of mine just told me about this free computer game that you can download for free to help teach your child their multiplication facts. It’s fun and interactive. Boys especially like the adventure. Try it and let me know what you think.
