Free Homeschool Curriculum

Some think it is impossible to get free homeschool curriculum, but I say if you know where to look, it is very possible.  I read a book a few years back called
Homeschool Your Child For Free. It talked mostly about buying books or curriculum used and then reselling it for about what you bought it for after you were done using it. I have to say, that bit of advice has come in quite handy.  I have been able to buy homeschool books and curriculum at used book fairs, on ebay and at homeschoolclassifieds.com and have used the material for my children and then resold it. Quite a profitable venture for me.

There are other ways to get free homeschool curriculum too. The internet has limitless possibilities for free material. If you don’t have any money to buy books, you can exchange your time for money and find what you need on the Internet.

One site that has done quite a bit of work compiling free homeschool curriculum is Old Fashioned Education. You will find a schedule and book list for each grade there. I believe that all the books can be found free online. I prefer to search my public library for these titles and pick them up at my local library when they come in. If you want a structured curriculum for free, then this is the site for you.

If you want to find sites on the Internet that you can use for homeschooling, you can purchase a handy little ebook for $9.95 called Internet Resources for Homeschooling that has over 350 sites reviewed by a homeschool Mom. These sites are chosen specifically for homeschooling. Basically all the work of searching the Internet for worksheets, games, virtual tours, and much more are all done for you for a nominal fee. All you have to do is click on the link after reading the description of the site and it takes you right to it.

I have found tons of great material at thrift shops and garage sales for practically nothing. It’s amazing what people get rid of and how it can be used for homeschooling.

Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t get free homeschool curriculum. It’s out there, you just have to know where and how to look for it.
