Homeschool Burnout
Someone wrote and asked me a question about what to do if you feel burned out on homeschooling or if you aren’t sure if you’re doing too many unnecessary things in homeschooling. Here is my answer. I thought I would share it with all of you too:
Thank you for your kind words. Yes, I do feel like I am burned out sometimes and I do often feel like I am not doing enough. I know almost every homeschool Mom feels like that at one time or another. When I feel burned out, I take my own advice and switch things up a bit for a couple of days. Maybe we will switch to a different room or turn on music or just learn in a different way. I think we all need the variety.
The most important thing for me to remember is to pray. It sounds so simple, but many times I will be telling my husband about a problem we are having and he asks me whether I have prayed about it or not. Usually I have not done that yet. So I’m trying to be better about praying about any situation right away. If I don’t know whether to do less or more for homeschooling, I need to pray. If I wonder whether I am doing too many unnecessary things, I need to pray. God has not brought us this far to let us down. I just forget that He is available to me.
I hope that helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.
