Maestro Classics Review

Most people know that classical music is good for children. Maestro Classics has taken that learning a step further. With the help of the London Philharmonic Orchestra, they have taken a classic stories like The Tortoise and the Hare, Casey at the Bat, Mike Mulligan ad his Steam Shovel and more and made them come to life with music.

I was able to review the Tortoise and the Hare. I loved how they used the instruments to portray the characters. My son liked listening to this story and enjoyed when I pointed out the different instruments that portrayed the different characters in the story.

In each Maestro Classics set you receive:

  • CD with story set to music
  • “Educational tracks describing the  creation of the music, composer’s lives, musical composition and more”
  • Activity booklet with more instruction, pictures, and written puzzles your child can complete.
  • Handy case that holds the CD and the activity booklet all in one place.

Bonnie Ward Simon who is a conductor and composer along with Stephen Simon are the brains behind this wonderful series of children’s classical music. They developed and produced these stories set to music.

These CD are great to play in the car when traveling, when your children are playing, or as a special treat at bedtime.

Each CD set is only $16.98 or you can get 3 sets for $45. Some of the other titles you can get are Juanita and the Spanish Lobster, The Story of Swan Lake, Peter and the Wolf, and The Sorcerer’s Apprentice. Most stories are for ages 4-6 and older. You, as a parent will enjoy these stories too.
