More Educational Toys for Christmas
That last post became quite long, so I decided to continue my list of educational toys for Christmas here….
Along the Lego theme, my children all loved Legos. If you have a daughter that is not really into Legos, she might like Ello instead. Their People, Places and Things set it cute. They can create all kinds of people and houses with that set. My son even enjoyed playing Ello with his sisters. I’m glad to see that Lego is moving back into more house building rather than having so many scary creatures and pirate ships.
With all these recommendations, I have to include that you can find some of the best educational toys for Christmas in the most unusual places. Last year I bought my son this little helicopter-like thing that you pushed up and it spun in a circle. I think that was his favorite toy and it only cost $1! It was educational because it taught him some good physics concepts.
Many of my children enjoyed playing with pieces of fabric. They could build forts, make costumes, create doll clothes and beds, and much more. Magic Cabin has some neat toys that are sturdy and well thought out.
Kitchen toys are always fun to encourage your children to want to work with you in the kitchen. They will someday be adults that will need to know how to feed themselves (and others) good healthy food. Many children want to do just what their parents are doing in the kitchen. They mimic us so much it’s scary! You can read my complete recommendations on kitchen toys at my other blog Children Cooking.
In my opinion Melissa and Doug have the most awesome and unique educational toys for Christmas that you will find anywhere. Here are just a few that I will mention from a long list…. See and Spell, Food Groups, Castle Playset, and Architectural Unit Block Set.
That should give you plenty to look at for now. Let me know if you have any suggestions to add to my list. I love toys!
