More Internet Field Trips
I keep finding more Internet field trips, so I’ll just keep sharing them here and telling you what is out there.
Voyage on the Mayflower – This Scholastic site is very well done. You can take the journey on the Mayflower and also tour the ship. While these are not video tours, they are still interesting with pictures, audio and explanations. The map on the journey page shows the original intended route along with the actual route.
Investigating the First Thanksgiving - What really happened at the first Thanksgiving? How did the Wampanoag and the Colonists get along? What did they do. Explore this site with your children or let them explore on their own. They can investigate what is fact and what is myth. Check out the evidence that explains what they did that day.
Smithsonian National Zoo - Over 20 animal exhibits at this zoo are being filmed by live webcams. Those webcams are then streamed through this site for us to view. Along with the video footage you can view fact sheets along with information about enrichment and training. As if that is not enough, you can also view photo galleries on each of the animals on the webcams.
Virtual Tours of National Parks – There are over 60 National Parks listed here that you can tour. You can choose to view the pictures in 3-D, standard view, .gov site or online field guide for that particular National Park. The 3-D pictures are really fun to view. This is a great site with big pictures that are beautiful. Definitely take a look at this one.
